Other work instruments

The fishing creel provides a weaving model for other work instruments used in fishing such as the trawl line basket and baskets for transporting the fish. The trawl line basket has a flat circular base where, when setting out to sea, the fishing lines with the hooks attached, are kept. The baskets used to transport the catch were larger and had handles. The marruffi were big conically shaped baskets with a flat base that could reach 2 m in diameter, used to keep the lobsters alive until they were sold. Smaller, but equally strong were the anciusas of the Oristanese, large creels used for storing live fish.
